Don Davidson has served since 1983 as a
drummer, percussionist, teacher and performing
musician throughout California, the U.S. States,
Europe & Australia. Don is an instructor at the
University of California at Santa Cruz, offering
courses in traditional and contemporary music of
the African Diaspora. He has brought the utility
of drumming into rhythm based learning events
and programs for literally tens of thousands of
people in corporations & organizations and
communities of all kinds.
Don was a founding member of the Dandaro
Marimba Ensemble and has served as lead drummer
and musical director of San Francisco's Group
Petit La Croix. He has served as an associate of
Arthur Hull and Village Music Circles since 1987.
His recorded works include Dandaro's CD release,
"Ndoenda Baba;" the Small Village Ensemble's,
"Drum Culture;" One World's release, "New
World Dance," with Babatunde Olatunji and
Africa Rain;Arthur Hull's, "Drum Circle Spirit;"
and the jazz-fusion group's self titled album,
"Eyelevel."
